Kevin Thomas, Trahan Architects

Lecture Description

Kevin Thomas will discuss the USA Pavilion design by Trahan Architects for this summer's Expo 2025, being held in Osaka, Japan. The pavilion celebrates the best of contemporary American architecture, innovation, culture, and industry and features panoramic views of the country and exhibitions that explore sustainability, education, entrepreneurship, and space exploration. In addition to discussing the design and design process for the pavilion, he will address the complexities of producing architecture for global mega events designed to help represent the United States to the world.

Kevin Thomas (OAA, MRAIC, Managing Principal, New York Studio, Trahan Architects) is leading expert in cultural and institutional spaces with over twenty-three years of experience. Throughout his career, Kevin has championed ideas of inclusiveness and authenticity in arts and education projects, as exemplified by his contributions to significant cultural projects, including being project lead for Brown University Lindemann Performing Arts Center; Kellogg School of Management, Global Hub at Northwestern University; Sprague Memorial Hall, Yale University School of Music. Kevin’s diverse experience also extends to leading the design for the US Pavilion project for Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
